My hairdressing career began when I was only 14 and still in school, I knew even then that i wanted to be a hairdresser. I've always lived locally and my first job was as a 'Saturday Girl' in a local salon, which i loved and from there my passion grew. The salon owner was always very encouraging and taught me many things (Even though he may not know it, he was a big influence in my early stages of hairdressing).
I was lucky enough to have a family member who was also in the trade and gave me advice and experience that I couldn't have got anywhere else. He showed me what it's like to have a 'love' for hairdressing and to always take pride in what I do.
Once i'd completed training for my NVQ qualifications and been salon based for several years, I knew i had the drive, ability and ambition to 'make a go of it', so in January 2010 I set up my own business and have not looked back since.
My passion has always been creating styles for special occasions and I love fact that many of my brides keep in touch and share their photos with me afterwards, it really makes me feel i've been part of their day.
My business and reputation is now growing rapidly in the area and I was delighted to win Bristol & Somerset Wedding Awards in both 2014 & 2015. A very big thank you to all the brides who took a few moments out of their busy lives to vote for me.
It's not always easy, the hours are often early starts, late finishes and long days but with the support from my amazing family and partner I wouldn't want to do anything else.
Check out the photos in my Gallery to see what i've been up to, I'm also hoping to have a blog by the end of the year.
Get in touch, I'd love to hear from you.
